Gas diffusion layers are tailored specifically for membrane electrode assemblies, providing the best performance in mass transport, conductivity, and materials compatibility. Our porous sheet, the key component of the gas diffusion layer, is customized for porosity, thickness, and rigid contact surface to suit your needs.

Application & Instruction

1.  Sintered metal porous materials

Porous titanium plate is a kind of material with excellent filtration performance and is usually made by metal powder rolling method.  Powder rolling is a process in which metal powder is used as raw material to roll metal into material directly.  First of all, the strip is rolled on a powder rolling mill, and then through sintering, cold rolling (or hot rolling), and annealing, a dense or porous finished sheet and strip can be made.

The porous titanium plate made of titanium metal powder has excellent corrosion resistance of titanium, can resist the erosion of various concentrations of nitric acid and most of the acid and alkali solutions, and has the advantages of non-toxic, high-temperature resistance, high strength, high porosity, uniform air permeability, easy to clean and so on.

The platinum-plated electrode on pure titanium has the advantages of good electrical conductivity, chemical and electrochemical stability, corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength and catalytic activity, good selectivity, and practicability, etc., and is widely used in the electronics industry, metallurgy industry, precious metal electroplating and water treatment industries]

Titanium is a very active metal, it is very difficult to electroplate platinum directly on pure titanium.  Especially for porous pure titanium plate, whether the oil removal, pickling and activation in the holes are thorough plays a key role in the uniformity of the coating and the adhesion between substrate and coating.  In the process of platinum plating on porous materials, two main steps affect the porosity of porous materials, one is the activation treatment of the material before plating, the other is the thickness of the plating of platinum coating.  The experimental results in this paper can guide the process of platinum plating on titanium plate to obtain appropriate porosity.


2.  Application of porous titanium plate

Notes for Use:

1, the supply of porous sintered titanium plate is consumable, although more durable than other filter elements, but in the process of cleaning and disassembly should pay attention not to scratch and touch, hit, fall, and other phenomena, to prevent human damage.  It is strictly prohibited to apply force to the surface of the filter element with tools.


2.  Under normal circumstances, the filtrate is filtered from the outside to the inside of the filter element, and reverse filtration is not advocated.


3.  When filtering, slowly pressurize to the required working pressure, and it is strictly prohibited to open the full valve instantly and rapidly pressurize.


4.  Working pressure ≤ 2Mpa.  When the filtration efficiency is less than 50%, clean air or clean liquid should be used in time for online backblowing and backwashing.


5.  When the titanium filter element is backwash, it is generally backblown with pure gas first, and the backflowing pressure is 1.2-1.5 times the working pressure.  The backblowing time is 3-5 seconds each time.


6.  If the pressure loss of the filter element is still serious after online backflowing and backwashing, it should be removed in time.
